Almora is one of the most popular hill stations of Uttarakhand. It is one of the five districts in the newly carved state of the Uttarakhand. It is also known as the cultural capital of Kumaon. Almora is on a three mile long horse saddle shaped ridge and is surrounded by hill ranges on all four sides by hill ranges. All the four ranges have the temples on the top of their peak. These temples are of goddesses Banari Devi, Kasar Devi, Sayahi Devi and the temple of Sun god. Almora is charming hill station on a 6 kms long horse saddle shaped ridge mountain. It has natural views of the snowy peaks of Himalayas and is an excellent place for a peaceful exotic holiday. It is a town with rich cultural heritage and history and is considered the cultural heart of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The almora township with it's tiled roofed houses and paved streets would take you to the sixteenth century.

You can go shopping at Laal Bazaar or satisfy your appetite at various restaurants in Almora. When at Almora, you can also go on excursions to nearby areas like Kausani, Ranikhet, and Jageshwar.
